Our Story

WE BRING THE WATER TO THE PEOPLE.
MOJA (moh-jah) means one in Swahili.
At MOJA WATER Hawaii, our clean water journey began in the Spring of 2020 with the construction of our first project, the Skalberg MOJA (1) in Kaliro, Uganda, dedicated to SGT JAMES SKALBERG JR., who made the ultimate sacrifice in Afghanistan on June 27, 2012.
Since then, we have continued our mission to bring clean water to the villages of Uganda. Inspired by the spirit of 'Aloha'—a commitment to caring for one another and the natural world. With the support of our dedicated team and generous
donors, we are able to distribute nearly 50,000 liters of clean water per day at
no cost to communities.
Our work is rooted in collaboration, partnering with Ugandan village leaders and the Ugandan Ministry of Water & Environment is key to our success. We believe that access to clean water is a fundamental human right, essential for health, education,
and economic development. Each water system we install not only provides safe drinking water
but also fosters hope and resilience among the community members while
protecting the environment.
As we continue our work, we remain committed to transparency and accountability, ensuring that every donation makes a tangible impact. We invite you to join us on this journey—together, we can create a future where every person has access to clean water. Your support can help us expand our reach, improve lives, and provide sustainable solutions to
communities in need. Let’s make a difference, one village at a time in Uganda, inspired by the
spiritual power of the Kingdom of Hawai'i.
